Travis Jean Swisshelm of St. Clair, MO departed this life in St. Louis, MO on Thursday, March 19, 2026, having reached the age of fifty-six years, eleven months and fourteen days. Travis was born in Cincinnati, OH on April 5, 1969, son of Terry Jay Swisshelm, Sr. and Mary Sue Swisshelm nee Whissen. On July 6, 2004 he was united in marriage to Kathleen Ann Thomas and their families were joined as one.
Travis is survived by his wife, Kathy Swisshelm of St. Clair, MO; by his children, Brittany Boone and husband, Jacob, of Washington, MO, Nathan Wells of Villa Ridge, MO and Austin Wells and wife, Reagan, of Independence, MO; by his father, Terry Swisshelm, SR. of Batavia, OH; by his mother-in-law, Betsy Thomas of St. Clair, MO; by his brother, Terry Swisshelm, Jr. and wife, Wanda, of St. Clair, MO; by his sister, Anna Williams of St. Clair, MO; by his step-sister, Suzanne Barrett and husband, Brian, of Seattle, WA; by his niece, Michaella Williams and boyfriend, Charley Negretti, of Union, MO; by his nephews, Kyle Williams and wife, Grace, of Marthasville, MO and Joshua Williams and significant other, Brianna, of Pacific, MO; by his grandchildren, Tristan Boone of Washington, MO, Viola Boone of Washington, MO and William Wells of Independence, MO; by aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Travis was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sue Swisshelm; and by his father-in-law, Nowell Thomas.
During his working career he was employed by America Testing Lab, now known as G and W of St. Louis, for over thirty years. He enjoyed going fishing, camping, working in the garden and never missed a Cardinal’s baseball game. Travis loved cars and cooking, and loved hot sauce and spicy food. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever.
A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, uncle, nephew, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Russell Colonials Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Donna Schofield-Dolle officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
