Obituary

OBITUARY Terry Lynn Trammell of Union, MO departed this life in Union, MO on Sunday, August 10, 2025, having reached the age of eighty-two years, seven months and ten days. Terry was born in Lamoni, IA on December 31, 1942, son of Leroy Oral Trammell and Maxine Hope Trammell nee Wilcoxen. On July 11, 1964 he was united in marriage to Linda Lee England and three children came to bless this union. Terry is survived by his wife, Linda Trammell of Union, MO; by his children, Julie Young and husband, Charlie, of Washington, MO, Alisa Yaeger and husband, Bill, of Union, MO and Joseph Trammell and wife, Tiffany, of Union, MO; by three sisters, Judy McGraw, Linda Boswell and Diana Stevenson and husband, Elmer, all of Lamoni, IA; by siblings-in-law, Elizabeth Lockhart and husband, Floyd, of Cape Girardeau, MO, John England and wife, Linda, of Lake Lotawana, MO and Jeanne England of Independence, MO; by his grandchildren, Ashley Chase and husband, Nathan, of Washington, MO, Michaela Young of Washington, MO, Leah Trammell of Union, MO and William Trammell of Union, MO; by two great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Brady Chase, both of Washington, MO; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Maxine Trammell; and by one sister, Jennifer Boswell. Terry was a Christian and member of First Christian Church in Washington, MO, as well as a devoted prayer warrior and giver. During his working career he was a teacher and substitute teacher for various schools including Wellston High School, worked for the National Park Service at the St. Louis Arch during the summer and was a caretaker for Camp Woodland Hills in St. Clair, MO for thirty-eight years. He loved music, whether playing classical guitar and trumpet or listening to Elvis. He shared his love of music with his family and had passed down his instruments to his grandchildren. Terry was and outdoorsman at heart and enjoyed canoeing, camping, fishing, hunting, hiking and boating, and also enjoyed playing cards. In his younger years he enjoyed riding his Honda motorcycle. What meant most to him though was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, August 15, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Lee Vandiver officiating. Interment will be in Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church in Washington, MO.
