OBITUARY Suzanne Elizabeth Courtway of Union, MO departed this life in Washington, MO on Thursday, November 17, 2022, having reached the age of fifty-four years, eight months and one day. Suzanne was born in Washington, MO on March 16, 1968, daughter of Kenneth Elbert and Carol Jo Steiger nee Johnson. On September 11, 1999 she was united in marriage to Carl David Courtway and they were blessed to share five children. Suzanne is survived by her husband, Carl Courtway of Union, MO; by her children, Ashley Jacobs and husband, Jeff, of the state of KY, Shawn Courtway of Union, MO, Felicia Carpenter and husband, Damian, of Sullivan, MO, Bianca Dierking and husband, Aaron, of Wright City, MO and Derek Courtway of Union, MO; by six brothers, Dale Elbert and wife, Debbie, Douglas Elbert, known to all as Mac, Mark Elbert and wife, Dawn, Gary Elbert, known to all as Tiger, and wife, Donna, Steve Elbert and wife, Mel and Bryce Elbert; by her sisters, Angie Thornton and Emily Elbert; by nine grandchildren, with one on the way, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Elbert and Carol Steiger. Suzanne was a Christian, having been raised in the Catholic faith and believing in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she was employed by Frick's Meat Market in Washington, MO as a Quality Control Inspector for about seven years. Suzanne love to cook and bake for the family. She also loved taking photos with the family and had an infectious smile and laugh. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and she cherished the time she spent with them. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will never be forgotten. A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of life and private committal will take place at a later date. The family of Suzanne Courtway was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
