OBITUARY Sue Carole Cummins of Pacific, MO departed this life in St. Louis, MO on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, having reached the age of eighty-two years, two months and twenty days. Sue was born in St. Clair, MO on June 29, 1942, daughter of Henry Martin Schupp and Edna Anna Schupp nee Jones. On December 7, 1963 she was united in marriage to Gordon Grey Cummins and was blessed to have one son. Sue is survived by her step-daughter, Beth Sanders and husband, Michael, of St. Charles, MO; by her nieces, Michele Alt and husband, Jerry, of Wildwood, MO and Christine Hernandez and husband, Benito, of Florissant, MO; by her nephew, Jeff Armstrong and his wife of Charlotte, NC; by one brother, David Schupp of Leesville, SC; by one sister, Bonnie Armstrong and husband, James, of Overland Park, KS; by two grandchildren, Matthew Sanders of St. Peters, MO and James Cummins of Overland, MO; by three great-grandchildren, Cayla Cummins, Reese Sanders and Max Sanders; by great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Edna Schupp; by her husband, Gordon Cummins; by her son, Martin Cummins; by her step-son, Bruce Cummins; by one brother, Daniel Schupp; and by three sisters, Shirley Schupp, Betty Schupp and Gloria Ford. Sue was a Christian and member of United Church of Christ Pilgrim in Labadie, MO where she served as church treasurer for many years and also was involved with vacation bible school. She started her working career in 1962 at Wagner Electric, and then went on to employment at Federal Mogul as a material manager, retiring after forty years of service to the company. Sue enjoyed watching John Wayne movies on television and going hunting with Gordon. She also loved to go horseback riding with the family. What meant most to her was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all. A kind and loving step-mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Matthew Helis officiating. Interment will be in Green Mound Cemetery in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to United Church of Christ Pilgrim in Labadie, MO.
