OBITUARY Shirley Miller of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Sullivan, MO on Sunday, December 29, 2024, having reached the age of seventy-six years, eight months and four days. Shirley was born in St. Clair, MO on April 25, 1948, daughter of Louis Ziegler and Laura Ziegler nee Hawkins. On December 25, 1964 she was united in marriage to Charles Monroe Miller and four children came to bless this union. Shirley is survived by her husband, Charles Miller of St. Clair, MO; by her children, Charlie Miller of St. Clair, MO, Cory Miller and wife, Laura, of St. James, MO, Robby Miller of St. Clair, MO and Alicia Miller of St. Clair, MO; by two brothers, Chuck Ziegler of St. Clair, MO and Jimmy McCafferty and wife, Chris, of St. Clair, MO; by her sisters, Kathy Busse of St. Clair, MO and Nancy Clark of Union, MO; by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Laura Ziegler; by one infant daughter, Tammy Sue Miller; and by two brothers, Dave Ziegler and Eddie Ziegler. Shirley was a Christian, having been raised in the Pentecostal faith and believing in the Lord as her Savior. She made caring for her home and family her job in life and never tired of it. She loved baking cakes, playing bingo and going fishing. Going to Lost Valley Lakes was always something she enjoyed to do. Shirley cherished the time she spent with her children and especially her grandchildren. They held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be in their hearts. A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
