OBITUARY Shawn Patrick Bemis of Hazelwood, MO departed this life in Bridgeton, MO on Sunday, March 31, 2024, having reached the age of forty-eight years, two months and twenty-eight days. Shawn was born in Kirkwood, MO on January 5, 1976, son of Gary Leroy Bemis and Martha Jean Bemis nee Christmas. As a young man he was united in marriage on June 27, 2009 to Autumn Carney and two children came to bless this union. Shawn is survived by his wife, Autumn Bemis nee Carney, of Hazelwood, MO; by his children, Isabella and Alex Bemis, both of Hazelwood, MO; by his parents, Gary and Martha Bemis of St. Clair, MO; by one brother, Matthew Bemis and wife, Jennifer, of Union, MO; by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nephew, cousins and many friends. Shawn was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Bemis. During his working career he was employed as a Commercial Underwriting Manager for Missouri General Insurance for over twenty years. Shawn was an outdoorsman at heart and loved experiencing nature. He enjoyed going fly fishing and traveling. He was also and avid reader. More important than the fellowship with friends, was his relationship with his children. They were his pride and joy and he cherished every moment spent with them. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will live on in their hearts forever. A kind and loving husband, father, son brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 PM Monday, April 8, 2024 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor David Boedecker officiating.
