Sharon Faye Venable nee Hansen

OBITUARY Sharon Faye Venable (nee Hansen), 70, of Sullivan, Missouri passed away on October 11, 2023. Beloved daughter of the late George E. and Beulah E. Hansen, born on July 7, 1953 in Lemay, Missouri. Devoted and loving wife of Walter Warren Venable since July 15, 1971. Loving mother of Angel (Philip) Young and proud grandmother of Caleb Young. Sharon was a master of many skills, her creativity was endless. For many years, Sharon baked cakes to order for countless people including wedding cakes. So many of her family members were lucky enough to have a wedding cake made with love to celebrate their day, including her precious daughter. Sharon was a talented seamstress, she enjoyed creating costumes and was always there to help with any sewing needs, she even made Angel’s beautiful wedding dress. She loved the challenge of finding new and innovative ways to use plastic canvas as she could make almost anything from it. Throughout the years she enjoyed many hobbies including square dancing, bowling, painting ceramics, crocheting, cross-stitch, embroidery and making crafts for craft fairs just to list a few. Known for her massive collection of pigs and her love of Elvis as well as being an avid country music lover. Sharon volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader so that Angel as well as so many neighborhood girls had the opportunity to be part of a troop. Education was of the utmost importance to Sharon, she was so proud to see her daughter complete not only a Bachelor’s Degree but also a Master's Degree. Later in life, she earned her GED confirming the importance of education to her. For several years, Sharon prepared taxes, and then worked at St. Clair McDonald’s. She then decided to open her own loan business for a few years, Money N Advance in St. Clair. Sharon was always a hard worker, never afraid to get dirty and enjoyed the challenges of new projects. Sharon loved traveling and helping others. Her love of animals began as a child and was never ending. She enjoyed spending time with her many animals throughout her lifetime and will be missed by Camo, Jada, Lucy and Frisky. Sharon is survived by her husband, Walter; daughter Angel (Philip) Young, and grandson Caleb Young. Dear sister of Richard (the late Loraine) Mitchell, Ron (Mary) Hansen, Ralph (Mary Isaacs) Hansen, Alice (Scott) Chistian and sister-in-law of John (Ann) Venable. Our dear aunt, great aunt, cousin, niece and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Roger Mitchell.
