Obituary

Sandra Sue Harmon, known to us all as Sandy, of St. Clair, MO departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family on August 28, 2021 having reached the age of seventy-one years, nine months and sixteen days. Sandy was born in Moselle, MO on November 12, 1949, daughter of Kenneth Hale and Gladys Marshan Hale nee Wideman. On December 31, 1973 she was united in marriage to Larry William Harmon and together raised 8 children. Sandy is survived by her husband Larry Harmon of St. Clair MO; by four sibilings, Donald Hale and wife Beverly of House Springs MO, Lloyd Wideman and wife Paiwan of Anchorage AK, Joann Hale of St. Clair MO, and Katherine Tarble and husband Chuck of White Bear Lake MN; by seven children, Eddie Brown and wife Cheri of New Haven MO, Debbie Avis and husband Clint of Pevely MO, Kevin Brown and wife Faith of St. Clair MO, Jason Brown of St. Clair MO, Danette Harmon and companion John Johnson of St. Clair MO, Shannon Ransom of Washington MO, and Justin Harmon and companion Melissa Pullen of St. Clair MO, fifteen grandchildren, Melissa Brown, Amber Pataky and husband Tony, Michael Brown and wife Haley, Mathew Brown, Marcus Brown, Raquel Avis, Racheal Wolfe and husband Drew, Anna Brown, Ryan Harmon and wife Sandra, Kelsey Stricker, Brendyn Stricker, Haven Ransom, Libbi Ransom, Drake Ransom, Eliza Sohn. 12 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth Hale and Gladys Hale Kopf; by her step-father, Harold Kopf; by her daughter, Amanda Harmon; by her grandson, Brian Johnson, and by three siblings, Kenneth R. Hale, Danny W. Hale and Bonnie Hale. Sandy was a Christian of the Baptist faith believing in the Lord as her savior. During her working years she was employed as a manager at the Circle K gas station in St. Louis MO. Sandy enjoyed many hobbies and interests during her life. Playing dice and cards with the grandkids was a favorite pastime and she loved to crochet. Gambling was another of her pastimes, as was having family gatherings. Nothing made her happier than the time she spent with her soul mate, Larry. Each of her family members held a special place in her heart, just as she did in ours. A devoted and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remember by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with the Rev. Raymond Laramore officiating. Interment will be at the United Methodist Cemetery, St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the St. Clair Elks Lodge 2651, St. Clair, MO.
