Sally was born in St. Clair, MO on December 2, 1942, daughter of Omeal William Hutchison and Edith Hutchison nee Davis. On October 14, 1972 she was united in marriage to Ronald Keith Schaves and two sons came to bless this union.

Sally is survived by one son, Christopher Schaves of Edenton, NC; by her grandsons, Jack Schaves and Charlie Schaves, both of Edenton, NC; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Omeal and Edith Hutchison; by her husband, Ronald Schaves; by one son, Timothy Schaves; by her brothers, William Hutchison and James Hutchison; and by her sisters, Norma Bush, Mary Ennis, Gloria Adams, Ruth Barker and Edith “Margorie” Watson.

Sally was a Christian and member of First Assembly of God Church in St. Clair, MO, now known as Connection Church, for forty years before moving to NC. She made caring for her home and family her jog in life and never tired of it. Sally enjoyed doing crochet, latch hook work and quilting. She also enjoyed the outdoors and working in the garden. Doing crossword puzzles was another pastime of hers. What meant most to her was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever.

A kind and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Lynn Stroup officiating. Interment will be in Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO. Memorials may be made to Connection Church.
