Obituary

Sally Ann Juengel of St. Clair, MO departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on November 18, 2021, having reached the age of eighty-seven years and twenty-four days. Sally was born in St. Louis, MO on October 25, 1934, daughter of Harry Corzine Benz and Jeanette Elizabeth Benz nee Anderson. On June 8, 1957 she was united in marriage to William August Juengel, Sr. and three children came to bless this union. Sally is survived by her husband, William Juengel, Sr. of St. Clair, MO; by her son, William Juengel, Jr., known to all as Bill, and wife, Connie, of Union, MO; by her daughters, Barbara Peters and husband, Ronald, of St. Clair and Susan Lindemann and husband, Steve, of Union; by two sisters, Chris Lake of Wentzville, MO and Mary Basler and husband, Ron, of St. Louis, MO; by six grandchildren, Sara Juengel of Union, Drew Juengel of St. Louis, Taylor Schaefer and husband, Stephen, of Union, Charlie Peters of St. Clair, Kate Kopmann and husband, Jack, of Union and Josie Lindemann and boyfriend, Adam Molitor, of Union; by two great-grandchildren, Barrett Gratzer and Georgia Schaefer; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Jeanette Benz; by her sister, Patricia Linhoff; and by one granddaughter, Stephanie Lindemann. Sally was a Christian and member of United Methodist Church in St. Clair, MO. She made caring for her home and family her job in life and never tired of the task. Sally loved to travel, go to the pool and was an avid reader. She was a faithful fan of the St. Louis Cardinal baseball team, whether going to the games or watching them on television. Nothing meant more to her than time spent at family gatherings. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Tim Nye officiating. Interment was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
