OBITUARY Roy William Wilson of St. Clair, MO departed this life at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, having reached the age of seventy-eight years, eleven months and twenty-two days. Roy was born in Washington, MO on February 17, 1946, son of John Wesley Wilson and Irene Wilson nee McDonald. As a young man he was blessed to have two children. On October 1, 1982 he was united in marriage to Sharon Ann Bailey and their families were joined as one. Roy is survived by his children, Bob Wilson and significant other, Carla, of St. Clair, MO and Lori Gratzer and husband, Bill, of St. Clair, MO; by his step-children, Kelly Smith and husband, Curtis, of St. Clair, MO and Kory Halmich of St. Clair, MO; by his brother, John W. Wilson, Jr., known to all as Dink, and wife, Shirley, of Cedar Hill, MO; by his sister, Linda Lee and husband, of MI; by eight grandchildren, Josh Wilson and wife, Emily, of Union, MO, Jerica Moore and husband, Donnie, of St. Clair, MO, Jade Wilson of St. Clair, MO, Austin Halmich and girlfriend, Kayshie, of St. Clair, MO, Kory Halmich and girlfriend, Faith, of St. Clair, MO, Meghan Maddox and husband, Jake, of St. Clair, MO, Bailey Smith and girlfriend, Ryan, of Washington, MO and Current Smith and fiancé, Nathan, of Chamois, MO; by thirteen great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, John, Sr. and Irene Wilson; by his wife, Sharon Wilson; and by three grandsons, Derek Crow, Taylor Crow and Jordan Halmich. Roy was a Christian and member of Christ Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. During his working career he was employed at Pace in Washington, MO as a maintenance mechanic for over twenty years. He loved being outdoors, whether fishing, hunting, trapping or hunting mushrooms. Roy also enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable garden. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Brother Duke West officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO.
