OBITUARY Rosa Lou Jones, known to all as Rose, of Lonedell, MO, departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on September 30, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-two years, seven months and twenty-six days. Rose was born in Greensboro, NC on February 4, 1940, daughter of John David Swink and Fronie Pauline Swink nee Saunders. On February 13, 1960 she was united in marriage to Jewell Elzy Jones and three children came to bless this union. Rose is survived by her children, Sherry Steele and husband, Mark, of Lonedell, MO, Jeffery Jones and wife, Michelle, of Lonedell, MO and David Jones, Sr. and wife, Lora, of Lonedell, MO; by her grandchildren, Nick Westrich of Washington, MO, Sara Steele of St. Clair, MO, Shylynn Jones of San Diego, CA, David Jones, Jr. and girlfriend, Jaycee Bartlett, of Lonedell, MO, Jonathan Jones of St. Clair, MO, Emma Jones of Lonedell, MO, Dannelle Littler and husband, Matt, of Lonedell, MO and Lillian Edwards of Mission, SD; by her great-grandchildren, Isabella Littler, Liam Jones and Weslee Steele; by five sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Rose was preceded in death by her parents, John and Pauline Swink; by her husband, Jewell Jones; by her brother, John D. Swink, Jr.; and by her infant sister, Millicent Swink. Rose was a Christian and had been attending Oak Grove Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. During her working career she was employed at Cedars Nursing Home in Cedar Hill, MO as the head cook. Rose enjoyed going to church with Jewell and working the concession stand and helping him to manage their arena for horse shows called the Double J Arena. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with and caring for her family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Russell Colonial Funeral home in St. Clair, MO and from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Cole Family Funeral Home in Ironton, MO. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Cole Family Funeral Home in Ironton, MO with Rev. John Canterberry officiating. Interment will be in Iron Mountain Cemetery in Middle Brook, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Rose Jones.
