OBITUARY
Roger George Steinbach of Robertsville, MO departed this life in Robertsville, MO on Monday, December 29, 2025, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, ten months and one day. Roger was born in Appleton City, MO on February 28, 1938, son of George Steinbach and Lucy Steinbach nee Groner. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have three children.
Roger is survived by his children, Dennis Steinbach and wife, Susan, of Lonedell, MO, Karen Tauchert and husband, Stephen, of St. Clair, MO and Ronnie Steinbach and wife, Gina, of Lonedell, MO; by his special friends, Judy and Donnie Dautenhahn, of Robertsville, MO; by one brother, Tom Steinbach and wife, Charlotte, of Plato, MO; by one sister, Fran Mesplay of St. Louis, MO; by eight grandchildren, Shawna Benton and husband, Keven, of St. Clair, MO, Jackie Woodcock and significant other, BJ Fitzsimmons, of St. Clair, MO, Sara Dawson and husband, Chris, of St. Clair, MO, Tony Steinbach of St. Clair, MO, Katie Tauchert and fiancé, Benton Hoang, of Kansas City, MO, Kirk Tauchert and wife, Carlie, of Kansas City, MO Marissa Small of Dover, DE and Ryan Brown and wife, Tiffany, of Fenton, MO; by eight great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucy Steinbach; by his companion, Fern Rose; by one brother, Brother Jim Steinbach; and by two sisters, Lorraine Schneider and Marty Schneider.
Roger was a Christian, having been raised in the Catholic faith and believing in the Lord as his Savior. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army, entering on April 1, 1957 and receiving his honorable discharge on March 24, 1960. During his working career he owned and operated Cresst Machine Company in Lonedell, MO for nineteen years and Steinbach Machine Repair Company, LLC in Lonedell, MO for twenty-seven years. He enjoyed working on the farm raising cattle and chickens, growing tomatoes and raising flowers in his flower beds, especially marigolds, xinnias and four-o’clocks. He also enjoyed feeding the birds and had a special liking to his pet dog Bo. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them forever.
A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great and great-great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO with Father Pete Blake officiating. Interment with full military honors will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Cedar Hill, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
