Roberta Gail Barton Immekus of St. Clair, MO, departed this life in Sullivan, MO, on August 17, 2021, having reached the age of fifty-two years, seven months and ten days. Roberta was born in Washington, MO, on January 7, 1969, daughter of James Robert Barton, known to all as Robert, and Gladys Virginia Barton nee Thurmond, known to all as Glady. As a young woman, she was united in marriage and blessed to have one daughter. Roberta is survived by her daughter, Misty Immekus of St. Clair; by her grandchildren, Kaylyn Richards, Charly Immekus and Bentley Vaughn, all of St. Clair; by eight siblings, Gary Barton of Sullivan, MO, Albert Barton, known to all as Terry, of Leasburg, MO, Nancy Barton of Leasburg, Caroline Barton of Union, MO, Norma Jean Ransom and husband, Anthony, of Steelville, MO, Daisy Barton of Sullivan, Laverne Barton of Sullivan and Sandra Biesemann of St. Clair, MO; by her best friend, Tommy Eckelkamp of Union; by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, James and Gladys Barton. Roberta was a Christian and member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. She was very artistic and loved to draw. During her working career, she was employed as an art designer at Paramont Cap Factory in Bourbon, MO, having been with the company for about twenty years. Roberta also loved spending time outdoors, working in her garden and feeding the birds. She had a keen sense of humor, liked to drive, listen to music and talk about Jesus. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and caring for her grandchildren. The love they shared and the many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 23, 2021, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with the Rev. Fred Wells officiating. Interment was in Horine Cemetery in Richwoods, MO. Memorials may be made to the family c/o Russell Colonial Funeral Home.
