OBITUARY
Richard Neal Just of Washington, MO departed this life at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Monday, June 8, 2026, having reached the age of seventy-four years, one month and two days. Richard was born in Jefferson City, MO on May 6, 1952, son of Raymond John Just and Helen Marie Just nee Schepker. On August 10, 1974 he was united in marriage to Melody Ann Wells and two children came to bless this union.
Richard is survived by his wife, Melody Just of Washington, MO; by his children, Alisha Koelling and husband, Jason, of Washington, MO and Rick R. Just and wife, Leslie, of St. Charles, MO; by his grandchildren, Kabren Koelling, Kendall Koelling, Brynn Just and Macie Just; by two brothers, Larry Just of St. Clair, MO and Steve Just and wife, Dixie, of St. Clair, MO; by his sisters, Diane Obermark and husband, Tom, of St. Clair, MO, Barbara Hillermann and husband, John, of Washington, MO and Donna Brant and husband, Mark, of St. Clair, MO; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Helen Just; and by one brother, Ronald Just.
Richard was a Christian of the Catholic faith and member of St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO. During his working career he was a member of United Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 2, for about twenty years for L.E. Myers and member of United Auto Workers Local 110, for about fifteen years at Chrysler Corporation. In his younger years, he also worked delivering fuel and helping with the family business, 30-B. He was a member of Elks Lodge 2651 in St. Clair, MO. Richard loved being outdoors, whether hunting or fishing. He enjoyed working in his garage, fixing vehicles, building rocking chairs for his grandchildren and could literally fix anything. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s baseball, volleyball and soccer events. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever.
A kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2026 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor John Pursley officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date.
