Obituary

OBITUARY Rhonda Mae Bartel of St. Clair, MO departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Sunday, April 27, 2025, having reached the age of seventy-three years, one month and eighteen days. Rhonda was born in Washington, MO on March 9, 1952, daughter of Wesley Adolph Ham and Vada Joyce Ham nee Christman. On December 17, 1977, she was united in marriage to Ervan Dale Bartel and two sons came to bless this union. Rhonda is survived by her sons, Matthew Bartel and wife, Amber, of Pacific, MO and Grant Bartel and wife, Kayla, of Washington, MO; her brother, Greg Ham and wife, Debbie, of Kansas City, KS; her sister, Glenda Nordgren of Auburn, WA; her grandchildren, Connor and Taylor Bartel and Maya, Evan and Sophia Bartel; and aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends, all of whom she cherished. Rhonda was preceded in death by her husband, Ervan Bartel; her parents, Wesley and Vada Ham; and one sister, Lana DeLong. Rhonda was a vibrant Christian and had been attending and truly enjoyed going to church at Roots Church in St. Clair, MO. During her working career she was employed as a compliance officer at Farmers & Merchants Bank in St. Clair, MO, retiring after forty-seven years of service. She was part of the "Golden Girls" group at the bank, and enjoyed traveling and going shopping with that group. Rhonda was very artistic, loved to cook, bake, and work in her flower and vegetable garden. What meant most to her was time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be forever cherished by them all. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 5, 2025, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Joshua Hinson officiating.
