OBITUARY Peggy Jo Hoffman of St. Clair, MO departed this life in St. Clair on November 24, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-two years and ten months. Peggy was born in Washington, MO on January 24, 1940, daughter of Herbert Henry Stahlman, and Luella Mae Stahlman nee Kerans. On November 7, 1959 she was united in marriage to James Lawrence Hoffman, known to all as Larry, and two sons came to bless this union. Peggy is survived by her sons, Mark Hoffman and wife, Debbie, of St. Clair, MO and Michael Hoffman and wife, Angie, of Sullivan, MO; by her brother, Terry Marcille of St. Louis, MO; by her sisters, Patsy Kramme and husband, Ted, of Sullivan, MO and Mary Barton of Sullivan, MO; by her sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Schaffart of Kewadin, MI and Linda Hoffman of St. Clair, MO; by her grandchildren, Cassandra Hoffman and fiancée, Blake Hoffarth, of St. Clair, MO, Logan Hoffman and wife, Sara, of Sullivan, MO, Lauren Hoffman of Sullivan, MO and Landon Hoffman of Sullivan, MO; by her step-grandchildren, Jaren Bryan and wife, Makayla, of Rosebud, MO and Jensen Bryan and wife, McKenna, of Elizabeth, CO; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Peggy was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Stahlman; by her mother, Luella Marcille; by her step-father, Charles Marcille; and by her husband, Larry Hoffman. Peggy was a Christian of the Catholic faith and member of St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO. For over thirty years she was employed by the St. Clair R-13 School District and spent more than twenty-five of those years as secretary for the St. Clair High School. Peggy enjoyed doing arts and crafts, whether scrapbooking or ceramics or making wreaths. She also enjoyed working in the yard and growing flowers. Peggy was a huge St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and never missed a game unless it wasn't on television. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she especially loved going to their school events. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, step-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO with Father Eric Kunz officiating. Interment will be in Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Clair High School for their baseball/softball project. The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
