OBITUARY Oscar Carl Saebens, III, known to all as Sonny, of St. Clair, MO departed this life at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, November 19, 2023, having reached the age of seventy-five years, eleven months and ten days. Sonny was born in St. Louis, MO on December 9, 1947, son of Oscar Carl Saebens, Jr. and Wanda Lou Saebens nee Rideout. On January 9, 1973 he was united in marriage to Srinual Lordtonglarng, known to all as Jit. Sonny is survived by his wife, Jit Saebens of St. Clair, MO; by his children, Tammy Theodore and husband, Patrick, of St. Louis, MO, John Saebens and wife, Andrea, of Union, MO and Julie Saebens of Pacific, MO; by his brother, Larry Saebens of Bloomington, IL; by his grandchildren, Tyler and Madeline Theodore and Aden, Talyn, Jasmine, Traven and Mikayla Saebens; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar, Jr. and Wanda Saebens. Sonny was proud to have served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and having attained the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. During his working career he was employed by Kirkwood Stair Company as a millman for many years. He was a proud member of VFW Post 2482 in St. Clair, MO, American Legion Post 347 in St. Clair, MO and the B52 Stratofortress Association. Sonny enjoyed woodworking and doing crossword puzzles. Although he spent a lot of his time working on one thing or another, what meant most to him was his time spent with his family. His wife Jit, their children and their grandchildren were his pride and joy and he cherished every moment spent with them. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be held dear in their hearts forever. A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. Entombment with full military honors will be in Crestview Memorial Park Haven of Rest Mausoleum in St. Clair, MO.
