Olive Jean Bird of Lonedell, MO departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, one month and twenty-seven days. Olive was born in DeBerry, AR on April 30, 1938, daughter of Clabe Bill Tanner and Dovie Tanner nee Hamilton. On January 9, 1959 she was united in marriage to Bill Joe Bird and four children came to bless this union. Olive is survived by her son, Timothy Bird and wife, Lynne, of Lonedell, MO; by her daughter-in-law, Ruby Bird, of Union, MO; by her brothers, Terril Tanner and wife, Lisa, of Chicago, IL, Otis Tanner and wife, Sarah, of Russellville, AR, Johnny Tanner and wife, Ann, of San Antonio, TX, Gary Tanner and wife, Brenda, of Greenwood, MS and Stever Tanner and wife, Mary, of Branson, MO; by one sister, Brenda Taylor of Greenwood, MS; by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Olive was preceded in death by her parents, Clabe and Dovie Tanner; by her husband, Bill Bird; by two sons, Bill D. Bird and Cameron Bird; by her daughter, Becky Bird; and by two sisters, Donna Jenkins and Debbie Oswalt. Olive was a Christian and member of Friendship Landmark Free Will Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. During her working career she was employed as a dietary manager for South County Manor in Jefferson County for over twenty years. She enjoyed going to church, sewing and doing cross-stitching. Olive also enjoyed spending time at the pool and in her younger years playing softball. What meant most to her was time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. John Dover officiating. Entombment will be in Crestview Memorial Park Haven of Rest Mausoleum in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church, Cancer Research or Prater Willi Foundation.
