OBITUARY Norma Jean Gromer of Union, MO departed this life in Washington, MO on Tuesday, December 6, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-two years, nine months and twenty-eight days. Norma was born in Dexter, MO on February 8, 1940, daughter of Willis Wilbur Ridge and Jessie Cleola Ridge nee VanBibber. On June 25, 1960 she was united in marriage to Hugh Allen Gromer, known to all as Allen, and two children came to bless this union. Norma is survived by her husband, Allen Gromer of Union, MO; by her son, Mark Gromer of Union, MO; by three sisters, Marlene Lindsay and husband, Harold, of Dexter, MO, Lenora Bishop of Dexter, MO and Ramona Plummer of Bloomfield, MO; by her brother-in-law, Cecil Gromer and wife, Margaret, of Columbia, MO; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Jessie Ridge; by her daughter, Stacey Gromer-Gabel; by two sisters, Louise Duncan and Vivian Duncan; and by her brother, James Duncan. Norma was a Christian and member of Landmark United Pentecostal Church of Jefferson City, MO. She made caring for her home and family her mission in life and never tired of her duty. Norma enjoyed collecting dolls and going shopping. She also used to write songs and enjoyed singing. What meant most to her was time spent with family. The love they shared and the many precious memories they created will forever by cherished by them all. A loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, December 9, 2022 and after 9:00 AM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
