Obituary

OBITUARY Naomi Opal Richardson of St. Clair, MO departed this life at her home, on Saturday, March 4, 2023, having reached the age of ninety-two years, eleven months and four days. Naomi was born in Grayson, KY on March 28, 1930, daughter of Jarvey Lee Roark and Carrie Roark nee Kiser. On April 24, 1952 she was united in marriage to Robert Vernon Richardson and two sons came to bless this union. Naomi is survived by one son, Vernon Richardson of St. Clair, MO; by two sisters, Donna Coleman of St. Clair, MO and Shelby Blanton of Kentucky; by two grandchildren, Brittany Richardson and Miranda Richardson; by two step-grandchildren, Alicia Carter and Robbie Bailey; by several great-step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Jarvey and Carrie Roark; by her husband, Robert Richardson; by her son, Gregory Richardson; by her brothers, Mose Roark and David, Roark; and by two sisters, Gladys Ison and Pauline Harris. Naomi was a Christian and member of First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO where she was very active volunteering in many church functions. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, St. Clair Chapter 96. Naomi enjoyed working in the yard, burning leaves and sticks, and working in her flower garden. She was an avid reader and enjoyed reading her bible. What meant most to her was time spent with family and friends. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever by cherished by them all. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, step-grandmother, step-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO, with Order of Eastern Star service at 7:30 PM. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, March 9, 2023 at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Kinion officiating. Interment will be in Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, MO. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO.
