OBITUARY Morris Eugene Nevills of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Washington, MO on Friday, June 2, 2023, having reached the age of ninety-one years and twenty-three days. Morris was born in Lonedell, MO on May 10, 1932, son of James Edward Nevills and Annie Gertrude Nevills nee Jennings. On May 3, 1983 he was united in marriage to Kaye Margaret Ashbridge. Morris is survived by his children, Charlotte Stricker of Union, MO and Morris "Butch" Nevills and wife, Kathy, of St. Clair, MO; by his step-sons, Ralph Guenzler and wife, Joy, of FL and Gerald Guenzler and wife, Chris, of Arnold, MO; by three half siblings, Gerry Rolens and husband, Kenneth, of Farmington, MO, Raymond Nevills and wife, Frieda, of WV, Wayne Nevills of CA; by his grandchildren, Faith Cockrum and husband, Bill, Earl Stricker, Bradley Stricker and wife, Jodi, Marc Stricker and wife, Christine, Daniel Stricker and wife, Julia, David Nevills, Jessica LeFan and husband, Jeff, Michael Cox and Rheannon Nevills; by twenty great-grandchildren, ten great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie Nevills; by his wives, Patricia Nevills nee Swan and Kay Nevills nee Ashbridge; by his sister, Dorothy Benton; by his son-in-law, Earl Stricker; and by one half sibling, Callie Rolens. Morris was a Christian, believing in the Lord as his Savior and had been attending Friendship Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. He was a proud member of Easter Lodge 575 AF & AM in St. Clair, MO. During his working career he was employed by McDonnell Douglas Corporation as a field representative and mechanic, retiring after forty-three years of service to the company. He loved to travel, whether personal or for work, spend winters in Florida, eating seafood and walking on the beach. Morris also loved to go fishing and hunting, especially for elk using black powder rifles. He enjoyed tinkering with his home, doing woodwork and had even built his own cabinets. He cherished the time spent with family and the many precious memories they created will forever live on in their hearts. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, step-father, grandfather, great and great-grandfather, step-brother, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. John Dover officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Lonedell, MO. Memorials may be made to Elmwood Cemetery or Friendship Baptist Church.
