Obituary

OBITUARY Minnie Lea Heitkamp of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Washington on February 27, 2022, having reached the age of ninety-one years, one month and twenty-six days. Minnie was born in Richwoods, MO on January 5, 1931, daughter of Archie Oscar Northcutt and Cora Mahala Northcutt nee Witt. On April 15, 1950 she was united in marriage to John Joseph Heitkamp, Sr., known to all as Jack, and six children came to bless this union. Minnie is survived by two sons, John Heitkamp, Jr. and wife, Nancy, of Ste. Genevieve, MO and Frederick Heitkamp and wife, Jennifer, of St. Clair, MO; by her daughters, Debra Brinker and husband, Dennis, of Villa Ridge, MO and Mary Havin and husband, Bill, of St. Clair; by one brother, Calvin Northcutt of Sullivan, MO; by one sister, Peggy Schatz of Sullivan; by two sister-in-laws, Nancy Heitkamp of Wildwood, MO and Margie Northcutt of Sullivan, MO; by seventeen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Cora Northcutt; by two sons, David Heitkamp and James Heitkamp; by two brothers, AO Northcutt and Charles Witt; and by six sisters, Ruth Hulsey, Lucille Brizendine, Edith Doemelt, Gertie Miller, Elsie Manion and Mildred Harms. Minnie was a Christian and member of St. Clare Catholic Church of St. Clair, MO. She was a previous member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Minnie was very active in the church, volunteering to work picnics, funeral dinners or making quilts for raffles. Minnie was also a member of Daughters of Isabella St. Clair Circle 1082. She was an avid reader and loved to cook. Minnie enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable garden, mushroom hunting and fishing. She also raised chickens, cattle and pigs. What meant most to her was time spent with her family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral mass was held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 5, 2022 at St. Clare Catholic Church in St. Clair, MO with Father Eric Kunz officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery in Manchester, MO. Memorials may be made to Daughters of Isabella St. Clair Circle 1082.
