Obituary

OBITUARY Michael Pete Wieda, known to all as Mike, of Valley Park, MO departed this life in Fenton, MO on Thursday, July 27, 2023, having reached the age of eighty years, eleven months and twenty-two days. Mike was born in Washington, MO on August 5, 1942, son of Fred Harmon Wieda and Maude Wieda nee Huff. While united in marriage he was blessed to have three children. Mike is survived by his children, Michelle Wieda of Valley Park, MO, David Wieda and wife, Angela, of Union, MO and Barbara Wieda Culp of Washington, MO; by his grandchildren, Adam Gerner and wife, April, of Lake Sherwood, MO, Kalee Krupinski and husband, Cody, of Union, MO and Mekenna Kim and husband, Yohan, of Kansas City, MO; by his great-grandchildren, Noah and Marren Gerner, Emery Krupinski and Kiyoung Kim; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Maude Wieda; by his wives, Peggy Wieda nee Ray and Anna Marie Wieda nee Henricks; by his sister, Barbara Wieda; and by his son-in-law, Terry Culp. Mike was a Christian of the Baptist faith, believing in the Lord as his Savior. Having been employed in the Aircraft Industry (McDonnell Aircraft and succeeding companies), retiring as a Journeymen Machinist with 47 years of service. He enjoyed tinkering with old gas engines and was always up for a good story. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will forever be cherished by them all. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Fred Banderman officiating. Interment will be in Virginia Mines Cemetery in Lonedell, MO. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Virginia Mines Cemetery Fund c/o Donna Counts, 2692 Sullivan Bottom Rd. St. Clair, MO 63077.
