Michael Edward Jacobs of St. Clair, MO departed this life at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on October 14, 2021, having reached the age of sixty-six years, eight months and twenty-four days. Michael was born in St. Louis, MO on January 20, 1955, son of David Jacobs, Sr. and Ardath Lucille Jacobs nee Becker. On July 9, 1977 he was united in marriage to Gail Ann Nissen. Michael is survived by his wife, Gail Jacobs of St. Clair, MO; by his sponsored son, Daniel, of Columbia, South America; by his brothers, David Jacobs, Jr., known to all as Larry, of Stanton, MO, Neal Jacobs and wife, Shauna, of Lonedell, MO and Clifford Jacobs of Springfield, MO; by his brothers-in-law, Lump Nissen and wife, Nilda, of Omaha, NE and Donnie Cammarata and wife, Michelle, of Marion, CT; by his sisters-in-law, Bobbie Meyer and husband, Brad, of Union, MO, Barbie Deimeke of Washington, MO, Susie Adams of Fenton, MO and Dodie Costello of St. Louis, MO; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, David, Sr. and Ardath Jacobs. Michael was a Christian and member of Canaan Land Ministries in St. Clair, MO where he served as worship leader. During his working career he was employed at various factories in the Franklin County area. He was a perfectionist at heart, took immense pride in whatever he did and didn't mind working extra long or hard to make sure the job was done right. Michael loved to sing and had participated in Choral Invitational Concerts at East Central College in Union, MO. He was an avid baseball fan and loved feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. Michael was an animal lover, whether it be fish, lizards, cats or dogs. A kind and loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Canaan Land Ministries in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Fern Nye officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date.
