OBITUARY Melissa Kay McClerren of Union, MO departed this life at her home on December 22, 2021, having reached the age of twenty-seven years and ten days. Melissa was born in Sullivan, MO on December 12, 1994, daughter of William Lee Courtway and Glenna Rea Courtway nee DeWitt. On December 14, 2019 she was united in marriage to Nicholas Scott McClerren, known to all as Nick, and three children came to bless this union. Melissa is survived by her husband, Nick McClerren of Union, MO; by he children, Melody Lee McClerren, Emersyn Rea Ann McClerren and Adelyn Marie McClerren, all of Union; by her mother, Glenna Courtway of Union; by her brother, Aaron Courtway of Richwoods, MO; by her grandparents, Beulah and Butch Berkbigler of St. Clair, MO and Shorty and Lorraine Courtway of Union; by her great-grandparents, Harold and Laura Berkbigler of St. Clair; by her parents-in-law, Dennis McClerren and wife, Shilo, of Richmond, IN and Melissa Rehs and husband, Shawn, of North Hampton, OH; by aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Melissa was preceded in death by her father, William Courtway. Melissa was a Christian and believed in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she was employed as a custodian for the St. Clair School district, working at St. Clair Elementary, Edgar Murray and St. Clair High School, for five years. She enjoyed many hobbies including painting by numbers, watching movies and shopping with Bianca. She loved going four wheeling with her dad and also loved everything that had to do with Harry Potter. What meant most to her was caring for her home and especially her babies. The love shared with her family will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, sister, sister-in-law, niece, aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Memorial services were held at 4:00 PM Monday, January 3, 2022 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Perry Vance officiating. Memorials may be made to the family.
