OBITUARY

Matthew Jon Strothcamp, age 61, passed away on April 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Matthew was a Christian who believed Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior.

Matthew is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Strothcamp, and his sons, Jacob Strothcamp (Chelsey) and Wyatt Strothcamp (Cecilia). He was a cherished son to Robert and Norma Strothcamp, and a dear brother to Timothy Strothcamp (Rhonda) and Kelly Ordiway (Rick). He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Matthew dedicated much of his life to his work with the union, proudly working with Locals 513 and 110. He took great pride in providing for his family and building a life rooted in hard work and integrity. Outside of work, he found joy in the simple things, especially spending time fishing, boating, and hunting. He also had a deep love for his pets, who brought him comfort and happiness.

More than anything, Matthew’s greatest joy was his family. The love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the quiet strength he carried will never be forgotten. Though he is no longer with us, his presence will continue to be felt in the memories we hold, the stories we tell, and the love that will always remain.

A memorial visitation to honor Matthew’s life will be held at Russell Colonial Funeral Home on May 3rd at 2PM-4pm. Memorials made be made to Halo for Animals, Sullivan, MO or the Cuba Animal Shelter, Cuba, MO.
