Obituary

Marjorie Norita Garrison of Valley Park, MO departed this life in Fenton, MO on Saturday, September 20, 2024, having reached the age of eighty-six years and five months. Marjorie was born in New Albany, MS on April 21, 1938, daughter of Erskin Garrison and Jewell Inez Garrison nee Hamblin. As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have five children. Marjorie is survived by four children, Keith Ruzicka and wife, Joyce, of Robertsville, MO, Jerry Ruzicka and wife, Laura, of Imperial, MO, Gene Ruzicka and wife, Sandy, of Byrnes Mill, MO and Tracie Ruzicka of Pevely, MO; by one sister, Carolyn Crum and husband, Lloyd, of Union, MO; by her sister-in-law, Betty Garrison of Washington, MO; by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Erskin and Jewell Garrison; by two sisters, Naomi Parker and Margie Garrison; and by her brothers, James Garrison and Gene Garrison. Marjorie was a Christian of the Catholic faith and believed in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she owned and operated Valley Coiffures Salon over the span of twenty years and also did hair at JC Penney in West County, as well as her home. She then owned and operated The Infant House, an at home day care for over twenty years. She enjoyed painting and working in her yard. Taking care of her home and family was one of her main priorities. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Josh Earls officiating. Interment will be in United Methodist Cemetery in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
