OBITUARY Margaret Ellen Casinger of St. Clair, MO departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Monday, October 21, 2024, having reached the age of seventy-four years, eleven months and thirteen days. Margaret was born in St. Louis, MO on November 8, 1949, daughter of William Tidwell Gangle and Catherine Gangle nee Lee. On May 11, 1968 she was united in marriage to Jimmy Gail Casinger and two children came to bless this union. Margaret is survived by her husband, Jimmy Casinger of St. Clair, MO; by her children, Jennifer Cook and husband, Gary, of Morgan Hill, CA and Stephen Casinger of St. Louis, MO; by one sister, Martha Gangle of St. Clair, MO; by her sister-in-law, Dona Martin of Little Rock, AR; by her grandchildren, Brian Cook and wife, Jesmin, of Bakerfield, CA, Kelly Trail and husband, David, of Hollister, CA, David Cook of Morgan Hill, CA, Brenna Colyott and husband, Alex, of Poplar Bluff, MO, Alyson Casinger of St. Louis, MO and Brooke Casinger of St. Louis, MO; by fourteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, William and Catherine Gangle; by one sister, Beverley Brun; and by five brothers-in-law, Mark Kilroy, Pastor Wesley Brun, Scott Martin, Roger Casinger and Dickey Casinger. Margaret was a Christian, having been raised in the Methodist faith and believing in the Lord as her Savior. She earned her Doctorate Degree in Law and worked in the St. Louis City Juvenile Court for over twenty years before retiring in 2020. She was a proud member of the ASPCA as well as the Southern Poverty Law Center. In her younger years she enjoyed acting and dancing. Margaret was an avid reader that enjoyed going to Borders Book Store, going to multiple book clubs and even volunteering at the St. Clair Regional Library. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. She cherished the time spent with them creating many precious memories. The love they shared and countless memories they created together will forever be remembered by them all. A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, October 25, 2024 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Clair Regional Library.
