Obituary

OBITUARY Larry William Harmon of St. Clair, MO departed this life at his home on Saturday, June 10, 2023, having reached the age of seventy-six years and six months. Larry was born in Terre Haute, IN on December 10, 1946, son of Harry Ray Harmon, Sr. and Arilla Harmon nee Plew. On December 31, 1973 he was united in marriage to Sandra Sue Hale. Larry is survived by six children, Earl "Eddie" Brown and wife, Cheri, of New Haven, MO, Debra "Debbie" Avis and husband, Clinton, of Pevely, MO, Jason Brown of St. Clair, MO, Danette Harmon of St. Clair, MO, Shannon Ransom of Cuba, MO and Justin Harmon of St. Clair, MO; by his daughter-in-law, Faith Harmon of Sullivan, MO; by fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry, Sr. and Arilla Harmon; by his wife, Sandy Harmon; by two children, Kevin Brown and Amanda Harmon; by his brothers, Harry Harmon, Hestel Houser and Stanley Harmon; and by his sisters, Iva Lou Fox and Hazel Mae Rodgers. During his working career he was employed by Daimler-Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, MO as a relief man, retiring after over thirty years of service to the company. He was a proud member of the United Auto Workers. He enjoyed travelling, going to the casino and going camping in his camper. Larry took great care of Sandy and did whatever she wanted or needed him to do. He cherished the time spent with family and friends. The love and fellowship they shared and the very many memories they created will live on in their hearts forever. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of life will take place at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the St. Clair Elk's Lodge in St. Clair, MO. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to the St. Clair Elk's Lodge.
