OBITUARY Larry Joe Hanneken of St. Clair, MO departed this life at his home on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, having reached the age of seventy-two years, six months and nineteen days. Larry was born in Washington, MO on November 24, 1951, son of Rudolph John Hanneken, known to all as Boots, and Anna Rose Hanneken nee Lindemann. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have three daughters. Larry is survived by his daughters, Monica Ellis and husband, David, of Green Cove Springs, FL, Melanie Janson and husband, Matt, of St. Clair, MO and Michelle Deuser and husband, Brad, of St. Clair, MO; by his twin brother, Terry Hanneken and wife, Bobbie, of Bourbon, MO; by his sister, Rita Davis and husband, Joe, of St. Clair, MO; by his grandchildren, Trinidy, Gabrielle and Leann Ellis, Kaitlyn and Briar Boots Janson and Abigail, Ellora and Samuel Deuser; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Boots and Anna Hanneken. Larry was a Christian, having been raised in the Catholic faith and believing in the Lord as his Savior. He was a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Leo John Steck, Council #4467, St. Clair, MO and a member of VFW Auxiliary Post 2482 in St. Clair, MO. Larry was a journeyman electrician during his working career and was employed by both St. Clair Die Casting in St. Clair, MO and Daimler-Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, MO. He enjoyed going fishing and hunting, had a keen sense of humor and loved joking around. Larry was an outgoing and sociable man that would give or do anything for just about anybody. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, June 20, 2024 with a Knights of Columbus service at 6:45 PM. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Fr. Eric Kunz officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorial may be made to the Knights of Columbus or the family.
