Obituary

OBITUARY Kenneth Ray Hoff, Sr. of St. Clair, MO departed this life in St. Clair on Sunday, June 1, 2025, having reached the age of eighty-two years, five months and one day. Kenneth was born in Gumbo, MO on December 31, 1942, son of William Allen Hoff and Julia Viola Hoff nee Mitchell. On August 14, 1965 he was united in marriage to Janice Lee Peterson and four children came to bless this union. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Janic Hoff of St. Clair, MO; by his children, Lisa Elbert of Washington, MO, Gina King and husband, Michael, of Spring Bluff, MO, Kenneth Ray Hoff, Jr. and wife, Dawn, of St. Clair, MO and Jon Hoff and wife, Mandy, of St. Clair, MO: by one sister, Janie Sams and husband, Gary, of Farmington, MO; by 10 grandchildren, Casey Bailey and husband, Josh, Jessica Bean and husband, Jason, Noah Elbert and wife, Rhiannon, Shaylin Phillips and husband, James, Stephanie Hulsey and husband, Brett, Anna-Maria Hoff, Abby Poetz and husband, Andrew, Kenneth Ray Hoff, III, Landon Hoff and Mallory Hoff; by twenty-three great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, William and Julia Hoff; by his brothers, William G. Hoff, James Hoff and Ralph Hoff; and by three sisters, Zelda Fern Hughes, Jewell Mills-Parker and Melba Reeves. Kenneth was a Christian and member of First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO. During his working career he was employed by Daimler-Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, MO, working on the assembly line and as a welder, retiring after many years of service to the company. He was also a proud member of the United Auto Workers Local in St. Louis, MO. In his younger years he enjoyed working on cars and took up running. After several 5K races, he took on a 26.2 mile marathon. He also enjoyed woodworking, including building rocking horses for all his grandchildren. Recently he could be found out and about in his red truck on his daily trip to McDonalds or in his recliner watching old western movies. Kenneth was described as a simple man, selfless, strong, determined, fearless, quiet and funny. He never had a bad thing to say about anyone ever. What meant the most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with pastor Michael King officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to American Liver Foundation.
