Kathy Irene Busse nee Ziegler

OBITUARY Kathy Irene Busse of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Town & Country, MO on Sunday, August 24, 2025, having reached the age of seventy-three years and three days. Kathy was born in St. Clair, MO on August 21, 1952, daughter of Louis Edward Ziegler and Laura Bell Ziegler nee Hawkins. On June 15, 2006 she was united in marriage to Gary Busse their families were joined as one. Kathy is survived by her children, Misty Beason and husband, Mike, of St. Clair, MO, Dawn Hix and husband, Paul Rice, of St. Clair, MO, Scott Palmer and wife, Jennifer, of St. Clair, MO, Charles Palmer and significant other, Christina Jones, of St. Clair, MO, Timothy Maddux and wife, Tonya, of Branson, MO and Jessica Kampmann and husband, DJ, of Union, MO; by two brothers, Charles Ziegler of St. Clair, MO and Jimmy McCafferty and wife, Chris, of St. Clair, MO; by one sister, Nancy Clark and husband, Leslie, of Union, MO; by her best friend, Debbie Wenzel, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Ziegler and Laura McCafferty; by her husband, Gary Busse; by two brothers, Edward Ziegler and David Eldon; and by one sister, Shirley Miller. Kathy was a Christian, having been raised in the Pentecostal faith and believing in the Lord as her Savior. During her working career she was a barmaid at Beckie’s Depot in St. Clair, MO and had also done in home care for the elderly. She was a very social woman that enjoyed working at the bar. Kathy also enjoyed riding around and spending time on the river. What meant most to her was time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. A private committal will take place at a later date. The family of Kathy Irene Busse entrusted the care of their loved one to Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
