OBITUARY
Karen Ann Fergerson of Lonedell, MO departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Friday, June 19, 2026, having reached the age of seventy-one years, one month and thirty days. Karen was born in St. Louis, MO on April 20, 1955, daughter of Frank Edward Michel, Sr. and Betty Mae Michel nee Knudson. On June 30, 1978 she was united to Richard Glenn Fergerson and one daughter came to bless this union.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Betty Taylor and husband, Johnny, of Lonedell, MO; by her grandson, Tripp Glenn Taylor; by her brother, Frank Michel, Jr. and wife, Diane; by five sisters, Marcy Smith and husband, Frank, Donna Wishon, Barbie Karnes, Debbie Fogarty and husband, Jim and Cheri Perez; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Frank, Sr. and Betty Michel; by her husband, Richard Fergerson; and by two sisters, Pat Stephens and Verlie Garner.
Karen was a Christian and member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Union, MO. She was also instrumental in the running of the backpack program at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Clair, MO, providing school-aged children with a nutritious, ready-to-eat food pack each weekend so they can return to school on Monday with a full stomach. Karen also loved to go shopping, especially to thrift stores, and cooking. She loved being a grandmother and cherished the time she spent with her grandson. The many precious memories they created together will forever be held dear in his heart.
A kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, June 26, 2026 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Union, MO with Pastor Matthew Hayter officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the church. The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
