OBITUARY

Judith Ann Humphrey of Lonedell, MO, known to all as Judy, departed this life at her home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, having reached the age of eighty-five years and three days. Judy was born in St. Louis, MO on July 19, 1941, daughter of Robert Christian Pingel and Pearl Pingel nee Waldo. On September 26, 1959 she was united in marriage to Russell George Humphrey and two daughters came to bless this union.

Judy is survived by her husband, Russell Humphrey of Lonedell, MO; by her daughters, Sharon Whitehall and husband, Jeff, of Ballwin, MO and Vicky English and husband, Doug, of Webster Groves, MO; by her grandchildren, Andrew Whitehall and wife, Elin, of Spruce, MI, Allison Whitehall and husband, Jim McCormick, of Bound Brook, NJ, Shannon English of Jefferson City, MO and Lauren English of St. Louis, MO; by her great-grandchildren, Addy Whitehall, Nora Pompa, Georgie Whitehall, Ben McCormick and Henry McCormick; by nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Pearl Pingel; and by her brother, William Roger Pingel.

Judy was a Christian, having been raised in the Methodist faith and believing in the Lord as her Savior. She made caring for her home and family her mission in life and never tired of it. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter #296 Union, MO, a quilting guild called Bits n Pieces and Honor Flight of St. Louis. Judy enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting. Being a lover of nature, she also enjoyed working in the garden and feeding and watching the hummingbirds. Making and enjoying wine was another pastime of hers. What truly meant most to her was time spent with family. Her children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever.

A loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, July 27, 2026 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to Honor Flight of St. Louis.
