Obituary

OBITUARY Joyce V. Pate nee Eubanks entered into eternal rest on August 1, 2022 at Crabapple Village Senior Estates in St. Clair, MO, having reached the age of eighty-two years, eleven months and twelve days. Joyce was born in Delaplaine, AR on August 20, 1939 to Emery Eubanks and Sadie Eubanks nee Martin. On December 14, 1957 she was united in marriage to Bobby W. Pate and four children came to bless this union. Joyce is survived by two sons, Tommy Pate and wife, Jodi, of Fenton, MO, David Pate and wife, Dawn, of Brookland, AR; by one daughter, Patricia Boresi and husband, Tom, of Perryville, MO; by one daughter-in-law, Diane Pate of Paragould, AR; by two sisters, Alma Boyer of Farmington, MO and Noma Snider of Concord, AR; by ten grandchildren, Sydney Manchester, Kimberly Miller and husband, Tony, Stephanie Militzer and husband, Mark, Andrew Pate and fiancé, Olivia Metzgar, Emily Pate, Brittany Drennen and husband, Rick, Jamie McHalffey, Lori Manchester and Cyndee Manchester; by eight great-grandchildren, Owen and Molly Militzer, Olivia & Amelia Miller, Bonnie and Pate Drennen and Drayden and Eliza McHalffey; by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, great, great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Emery and Sadie Eubanks; by her husband, Bobby W. Pate; by one son, Bobby L. Pate; by two brothers, Donald and Alvin Eubanks; and by two sisters, Eufa Adkinson and Betty Snider Joyce was a Seventh-day Adventist and believed in the Lord as her Savior. Joyce enjoyed playing basketball at Delaplaine High School where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class. In her younger years she was first employed at a shoe company in Paragould, AR and later made a career at Emerson Electric where she retired after 25 years of service. Joyce and Bobby enjoyed square dancing, fishing, and going camping with their grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and canning food. She was also a wonderful seamstress and she made clothes for her kids and grandkids. Joyce was also crafty and creative and she knew how to do carpentry. Joyce enjoyed traveling around the United States and she went on a cruise. Joyce will be remembered for the immense love for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with them playing games and going to Walmart. A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great, great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Mountain Home Cemetery in Paragould, A. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Mountain Home Cemetery Fund, 1096 Greene 617 Road, Paragould, AR 72450.
