Obituary

Joshua Robert Stephens, known to all as Josh, of Lonedell, MO departed this life in St. Louis, MO on Thursday, October 3, 2024, having reached the age of thirty-six years, eight months and thirteen days. Josh was born in St. Louis, MO on January 20, 1988, son of Joseph Theodore Stephens and Linda Jean Stephens nee Tate. In August of 2023 he was united in marriage to Johnnie Evans and blessed to have one daughter. Previously he was blessed to have five other children. Josh is survived by his wife, Johnnie Stephens nee Evans, of Lonedell, MO; by his daughter, Cynthia Stephens; by his children Mya Jones, Codi Stephens, Austin Stephens and Isabella Stephens, and their mother, Crystal Jones; and by Zelda Stephens and her mother, Amanda Dehn; by his parents, Joseph and Linda Stephens; by one sister, Rachel Luzynski and husband, Chris, of St. Clair, MO; by three nieces, Avaehna, Ellamay and Madalyn; by his nephew, Dacen; by his aunt, Paula Dell; by other aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert "Bob" and Betty Hart, Roy and Janet Eckerle and Richard Stephens; by one sister, Cynthia Stephens; and by one niece, Harley. Josh was a Christian, having been raised in the Baptist faith and believing in the Lord as his Savior. During his working career he was employed by a construction company doing concrete work and welding. Josh enjoyed tinkering with motorcycles and cars, welding and building things. He was very creative, could make anything and also loved to draw. His children held a very special place in his heart, as he did in theirs and he cherished the time he spent with them. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will never be forgotten. A kind and loving husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Raymond Laramore officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date at Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the family.
