John Joseph Stolte, III of Kansas City, MO departed this life in Kansas City, MO on Friday, November 24, 2023, at age 77. John was born in South Amboy, NJ on April 4, 1946, son of John Joseph Stolte, Jr. and Doris Stolte nee Cable. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have six children. John is survived by his sons, John J. Stolte, IV and wife, Jennifer, of Overland Park, KS, Ruben E. Bradley, Jr. of Kansas City, MO and Dezmond L. Thomas of Kansas City, MO; by his daughters, Marin L. Stolte of Placerville, CA, Bedriye N. Stolte, known to all as Natasha, of Kansas City, MO and Qwanysa M. Valentine of Kansas City, MO.; by his brothers, James H. Stolte and wife, Theresa, of Kansas City, MO and Robert D. Stolte and wife, Vicki, of St. Clair, MO; by his sister, Melissa M. Aubuchon, known to all as Lissa, of Peculiar, MO; by twelve grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, John, Jr. and Doris Stolte. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army, during the Vietnam War, from 1963 to 1971. During his working career he worked as a location specialist for a bill collection agency, as well as running his own lawn care service. John had a variety of interests throughout his life including hiking, walking, fishing and camping. He would exercise the practice of hypermiling and also enjoyed going to the shooting range. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. Interment with full military honors will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
