OBITUARY John August Russavage of Leasburg, MO departed this life in Stanton, MO on September 29, 2022, having reached the age of seventy-one years, seven months and fifteen days. John was born on February 14, 1951, son of Leo Paul Russavage, Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Russavage nee Sanguinette, known to all as Betty. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have two sons. John is survived by his sons, Justin J. Russavage and wife, Sara, of Leslie, MO and Kyle D. Russavage of Joplin, MO; by his sisters, Babette Lee of DeSoto, MO and Linda Roberts of Valley Park, MO; by his grandchildren, Zaden, Arwen and Harper Russavage, Michael Diaz and Rachel Engemann; by his lifelong friend, Jay Wilkinson and wife, Michelle; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Paul Russavage Sr and Elizabeth Roberts; and by his brothers, Leo Paul Russavage, Jr. and Richard D. Russavage. John grew up on Forder Road in St. Louis County and attended Mehlville High School. During his working career he worked as a laborer through the union hall of Laborer's Local 110 in St. Louis, MO, where he was a proud member of almost forty years. John was at one time a roadie for the band, Head East, with a concert lighting system built with Mike Wilkinson and they worked concerts and Super Jams across the US. He coached his sons' T-Ball and baseball teams, played on the church softball team, loved watching wrestling on television, having barbeques and throwing washers. John relived his glory days by telling great stories and could always be recognized by his blue eyes. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
