Joan Rudd of St. Clair, MO departed this life in Columbia, MO on Friday, July 18, 2025, having reached the age of ninety years, seven months, and ten days. Joan was born in Poplar Grove, KY on December 8, 1934, daughter of Thomas Lloyd Son and Edith Mae Son nee Johnson. On December 27, 1952 she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Rudd and two children came to bless this union. Joan is survived by her daughter, Vickie Wildhaber of Columbia, MO; by her grandchildren Eric Wildhaber and Denise Saucedo of San Antionio, TX, Rachel Wildhaber and husband Kaleb Jessee of Raleigh, NC, Jason Rudd of St. Clair, MO and Daryl Rudd of St. Clair, MO, by nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Edith Son; by her husband, Robert Rudd; by her son, Donald Rudd; and by three brothers, Ray Son, Henry Son, and Coy Son; and one sister Barbara Son. Joan worked for General Electric for about 10 years in Owensboro, KY. She was a former member of Eastern star Chapter 96 in St, Clair, MO from 1967-1984. Once moving to St. Clair, MO in 1961 she devoted her life to taking care of her children and her home. She was very active in her children's school activities, she was a member of the PTA and Band Boosters. Joan loved watching sports, the Kentucky Derby, University of Kentucky Basketball, the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Blues, the Kansas City Chiefs, Mizzou Football, golf and tennis. She enjoyed spending time and taking care of her garden. Joan also enjoyed watching the cardinals in her yard and collecting cardinal memorabilia. But what meant most to her was the time spent with her children and grandchildren. A kind and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Saturday July 26, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with a graveside service to follow at 12:30 PM at Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Clair, MO.
