Jerry Alan Menzel of Luebbering, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. He was seventy years old, having reached the age of seventy years, three months, and twenty-seven days. Jerry was born on December 5, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of George and Patricia Menzel. On March 18, 1983, he was united in marriage to Judy Menzel, and this union was blessed with three children.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Menzel of Luebbering, Missouri; his children, Jason Melton of Dittmer, Missouri, Holly Teten and her husband, Ralph, of Neptune Beach, Florida, and Bobby Menzel and his wife, Whitney, of Dittmer, Missouri. He is also survived by one brother, Eddie Menzel and his wife, Beverly, of Monrovia, Indiana; his sisters, Patty Thurston of Lonedell, Missouri, and Kathy Bolin and her husband, Jeff, of Washington, Missouri; and his sister-in-law, Debbie Menzel of Lonedell, Missouri. Jerry was a proud grandfather to Jason Melton II, Jeana Melton, John Davis, Matthew Menzel, Maycee Menzel, Charleigh Menzel, and Giuliana Menzel. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Patricia Menzel, and by his brother, Kenny Menzel.
Throughout his working career, Jerry was an auto body technician, most notably with Bo Beuckman Ford in Ellisville, Missouri, as well as with several other dealerships throughout the St. Louis metropolitan area. He took great pride in his work and was known for his skill and dedication.
In his free time, Jerry found joy in the simple things—fishing, spending time outdoors, and working around the house. He enjoyed landscaping and took pride in building projects of all kinds. Jerry had a remarkable ability to fix just about anything and even built the family’s first home. Spending time with family and friends brought him his greatest joy, and the many treasured memories they shared will be forever cherished.
A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and dear friend, Jerry will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, Missouri, with Reverend Raymond Laramore officiating. A private interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Grubville, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the family.
