Obituary

Jerome William Siess of Catawissa, MO departed this life in Fenton, MO on Monday, July 10, 2023, having reached the age of eighty years, ten months and nineteen days. Jerome was born in St. Clair, MO on August 21, 1942, son of Leo William Siess and Esther Mary Siess nee Luebbers. In 1971 he was united in marriage to Linda Wagner and two children came to bless this union. On July 14, 2001 he was united in marriage to Helen Marie Bush. Jerome is survived by his son, Shawn Siess of Catawissa, MO; by his daughter, Connie Haselhorst and husband, Randy, of Aviston, IL; by his brothers, Daniel Siess and wife, Camille, of Fenton, MO, James Siess and wife, Jeanette, of Union, MO, Allen Siess and wife, Debbie, of Crystal City, MO and Urban Siess and wife, Kelly, of St. Clair, MO; by his sisters, Eloise Newell of Denver, CO and Lucy Taylor and companion, Brian Sanders, of Newport News, VA; by his grandchildren, Kalli Haselhorst and boyfriend, Tom Smith, of St. Peters, MO, Gage Harding and wife, Kenzie Verhines, of Santa Cruz, CA and Brice Haselhorst and fiancé, Corissa Hansen, of Champaign, IL; by his great-granddaughter, Macy Smith of St. Peters, MO; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and great-grand dogs and cats. Jerome was a Christian of the Catholic faith and member of St. James Catholic Church in Catawissa, MO. He was proud of serving his country in the United States Navy, entering on July 21, 1960 and receiving his honorable discharge on August 20, 1965, having attained the rank of ADJ2. During his working career he was a painter, mostly for Runge Painting Co., Inc., but had also worked for various other companies. He was a proud member of the local painter's union. He was a hardworking man that spent the majority of his time either working, raising cattle on his farm or tending the vegetable garden. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Father Mark Bozada officiating. Interment will be in St. Clare Catholic Cemetery in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
