Obituary

Jeffrey Dean Ramey of Union, MO departed this life in Union, MO on Thursday, March 28, 2024 having reached the age of sixty-six years, two months and four days. Jeffrey was born in Washington, MO on January 24, 1958, son of Hubert William Ramey and Georgia June Ramey nee Wieda. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have five children. Jeffrey is survived by his sons, Dean William (Tenille) of Bunker, MO, James Albert Ramey of Cuba, MO and John Andrew Ramey of Union, MO; by his daughters, Laura Jean Ramey (Keith) of Union, MO and Patricia Ramey of Tulsa, OK; by four brothers, William Ramey (Flash) of Marshall, MO, Robert Jordan (Alan) of Louisiana, MO, Randall Ramey (Melody) of St. James, MO and Kevin Ramey (Preston) of Hartville, MO; by his sisters, Vicky Eckhoff of Potosi, MO, Kathy Ramey of Union, MO, Debbe Schroeder (Ralph) of Villa Ridge, MO, Barb Longgear (Gary) of Anutt, MO and Kimberly Spencer (Ron) of Springfield, MO; by two grandchildren, one great-grandchild on the way, two aunts, one uncle, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Georgia Ramey; and by one brother, Melvin Ramey. Jeffrey was a Christian and had been attending Crosswalk Church in Union, MO. During his working career he was a Certified Nurses Assistant for various nursing homes in Franklin County, as well as the surrounding area, for many years. He enjoyed barbequing for family get togethers and watching western movies on television. Jeffrey also enjoyed playing cards, especially solitaire. He had a keen sense of humor and loved to joke around and pull pranks. What meant most to him was time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Memorial visitation will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Monday, April 1, 2024 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO. A private committal will take place at a later date.
