Obituary

OBITUARY Jay Tracy Nations, known to most as "Tracy" of St. Clair, MO departed this life at his home on September 6, 2025, having reached the age of sixty-nine years, two months and twenty-seven days. Tracy was born in Ruth, MS on June 10, 1956, son of JT and Beneta Nations. On March 25, 2006 he was united in marriage to Vanessa Mae VanCise. Tracy is survived by his wife, Vanessa Nations of St. Clair, MO; by his children, Paul Johnson and wife, Laura, of Frederick, MD, Laura Pemberton and husband, JR, of Pacific, MO and Elizabeth Hillrich and husband, Stephen, of Morton, IL; by his mother, Beneta Nations of St. Clair, MO; by his sisters, Phyllis Nations Gordon of Lincoln County, MS, Deborah Nations Langley of Lawrence County, MS and Cindy Nations of Union, MO; by his grandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Johnson, Robin and Colton Pemberton and Everett Hillrich; by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Tracy was preceded in death by his father, JT Nations; and by his brother, Greg Nations. Tracy was a follower of Christ, having been raised in the Southern Baptist faith and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Cedar Hill, MO. During his working career he was a real estate broker for Re/Max before starting his own company, Nations Realty. Later he had became an over the road truck driver for over 25 years. He was a regular volunteer for disaster relief with Samaritan's Purse. He was a strong witness for the Lord always, at home and over the road. Tracy loved spending time outdoors, whether working on the farm, hiking or kayaking. He also loved woodworking and traveling. What meant most to him was service to the Lord and time spent with family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever. A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday, September 12, 2025 at Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO with Brother Dave Willis officiating and a memorial service to follow at Friendship Baptist Church, Cedar Hill, MO. Memorials may be made to Samaritan's Purse. The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
