OBITUARY James Edward Wideman, known to all as Jim, of New Haven, MO departed this life on Saturday, March 29, 2025, having reached the age of seventy-four years, two months and twenty-seven days. Jim was born in Washington, MO on January 2, 1951, son of Ralph Edward Wideman and Estella Marie Wideman nee Busse. As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have three daughters. Jim is survived by his children, Amy Dobelmann and husband, Eric, of New Haven, MO, Jodi Swearingen and husband, Lance, of Arnold, MO and Jamie Strubberg and husband, Ed, of Union, MO; by his sister, Carlos Pierce and husband, Don, of St. Clair, MO; by his sister-in-law, Phyllis Wideman of St. Clair, MO; by his grandchildren, Justin Girardier and wife, Niky, Cody Dobelmann, Makenzie Wall, Lucas Wall and fiancé, Aaliyah Kuelker, Hunter Mehler and fiancé, Ella Riegel, Chase Mehler and fiancé, Sydney Hittson and Wil Strubberg; by his great-grandchildren, Drew and Tessa Girardier; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Estella Wideman; by his brother, Bobby Joe Wideman; and by his great-great-grandson, Arlo James Girardier. Jim dedicated 36 years of his career to Daimler-Chrysler Corporation and the UAW before retiring. A proud member of United Auto Workers Locals 110 and 136, he served on UAW Staff as a Labor Union Negotiator for a decade and held roles as a past Local 136 President, Union Rep and Shop Steward. He was a Charter member of St. Clair Elks Lodge #2651 and took great pride in his work. Jim had a deep love for the outdoors, whether tending to his yard, swimming in his pool, or enjoying a round of golf. However, his greatest joy came from the time spent with his family. The love they shared and the countless cherished memories they created will live on in their hearts forever. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 4, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Chaplain Pat Singleton officiating. Interment will be Anaconda Community Cemetery in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to Anaconda Community Cemetery Fund.
