OBITUARY

Iris Jane Yarbrough of St. Clair, MO departed this life at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Thursday, December 25, 2025, having reached the age of eighty-four years, two months and twelve days. Iris was born in St. Louis, MO on October 13, 1941, daughter of Phillip Lloyd Sutherlin and Ruth Sutherlin nee Dunn. On May 12, 1996 she was united in marriage to Gary William Yarbrough.

Iris is survived by four children, Mark Dale of Edwardsville, IL, Cathy Rhodes and husband, Craig, of Edwardsville, IL, Raymond Dale and wife, Lorrie, of St. Clair, MO and Robert Dale and wife, Amanda, of St. Louis, MO; by her brother, Phillip Sutherlin and wife, Rosalie, of San Mateo, CA; by six grandchildren, Jessica Bailey, Michael Straub, Emily Nunnery, Jackson Dale, Julien Dale, Violet Dale; by nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Iris was preceded in death by her parents, Phillip and Ruth Sutherlin; by her husband, Gary Yarbrough; by one son, Richard Dale; by her sister, Roberta Marshall; and by two grandchildren, Julia Straub and Mason Dale.

Iris was a Christian and member of First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO, where she volunteered for various activities. During her working career she was head over housekeeping at Palace Inn in Branson, MO from 1992-2004. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and cooking for the family. Her children and grandchildren held a very special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great and great-great-aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Joe Sikes officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church in St. Clair, MO.
