Obituary

OBITUARY Henry Lee Hildebrand, known to most as Hank, of St. Clair, MO departed this life at his home on September 14, 2022, having reached the age of eighty-one years, eight months and twenty-six days. Hank was born in St. Louis, MO on December 19, 1940, son of Stephen E. Hildebrand and Anna Mae Hildebrand nee Mayberry. On October. 16, 1964 he was united in marriage to Alice Faye Brown and three sons came to bless this union. Hank is survived by his wife of almost fifty-eight years, Alice Faye Hildebrand nee Brown of St. Clair, MO; by his three sons, Randy L. Hildebrand and wife, Tanya L. Hildebrand of Post Fall, ID, Marty L. Hildebrand and wife, Jessica K. Hildebrand of Pembroke, GA, and Brian L. Hildebrand and wife, Kelly A. Hildebrand of St. Clair, MO; by five grandchildren, Aaron S. Hildebrand, Melissa F. Harris, David A. Hildebrand, Briana L. Hildebrand and Kaylee A. Hildebrand; by eight step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; by one brother, William J. Hildebrand and wife, Tina Hildebrand of Trenton, TN; and by nephews and friends. Hank is preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Anna Mae Hildebrand; by thirteen siblings; by his foster-parents, Charles and Ivy Caldwell who raised him from the age of 19 months; and by two foster-siblings. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from January 17, 1958 to January 16, 1961. He served his community in the Missouri Army National Guard from December 17, 1980 to December 19, 2000, and as a dedicated member of the St. Clair Police Department for twenty years as a Reserve Officer Sergeant. Hank was also a volunteer at the Good Shepard Food Pantry in St. Clair for seven years. He was a retiree of Chrysler in Fenton, MO. Most importantly, Hank accepted Christ into his life at the age of nine and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Londell, MO. His funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Ben Kingston officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. Clair, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Smile Train. This was Hank's soft spot after seeing so many kids with cleft lips and palates in third world countries while deployed with the National Guard. https://www.smiletrain.org/donate
