Harvetta Smith

Harvetta Lee (Harris) Smith was born on April 18, 1941 in Sherdain, Arkansas. To Richard and Texie (Brewer) Harris.

She graduated from Sherdain High School.

She passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026 at St. Claire Nursing Center, St. Clair, MO

Harvetta suffered much grief in her life with the death of the first husband Oliver Freeman, and then her second husband John Smith. Harvetta and Oliver had one son Randy, who passed away in May of 2023.

Early in her married life to Oliver, Harvetta worked in at a dress factory and for Brown Shoe Company. She retired after working for 22 years in the day care career, serving as a teacher and office administer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and her son. She is survived by her special cousins Russell Brewer, and Nancy McCool along with several other cousins.

She was blessed with very special dear friends, Iris, Danielle, Linda and many friends in the Lonedell & Union, MO area where she had lived the past 30 years.

Cremation rights were performed upon her request. A private family graveside burial in Sheridan, Arkansas
