Obituary

OBITUARY Harry Lee Newbold of Luebbering, MO departed this life at his home, on Sunday, February 12, 2023, having reached the age of ninety-four years, six month and nineteen days. Harry was born in Johnson County, IL on July 24, 1928, son of William "Will" Newbold and Grace Newbold nee Rich. On September 2, 1951, Harry was united in marriage to Sue Jean Marks and seven children came to bless this union. Harry is survived by two sons, Richard Newbold and wife, Denise, of Luebbering, MO and Albert E. Newbold of Luebbering, MO; by two daughters, Nancy Martin and husband, Greg, of Salem, MO and Helen Newbold of Nowata, OK; by one brother, James "Jimmy" Newbold of Lake Station, IN; by twenty-three grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, many many great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Harry was preceded in death by his parents William and Grace Newbold; by his wife, Sue Newbold; by two sons, Samuel and William Ira Newbold; by one daughter, Peggy Burnett; by one grandson, Albert W. "Albie" Newbold; by seven brothers, Howard, Marvin, Albert, Elbert, Dewey, Carol and Bobby Newbold; and by his sisters, Hazel Homes, Alice Hawkins, Minnie Chamness, Audrey Larson, Racheal Gaddis and Boneva Homes. Harry was a member of First Baptist Church in High Ridge, MO. During his working career, Harry was employed by Missouri Terrazzo until his retirement. Harry enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, making quilts, gardening, and canning. Farming was his true passion, and he enjoyed caring for his cows. What meant most to him was time spent with his family. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all. A kind and loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, great, great-great, and great-great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 17, 2023 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Pastor Bradley Bean officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, MO. Memorials may be made to MADD of St. Louis or the Missouri Department of Conservation. The family was served by Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO.
