OBITUARY Harold Clifford Friend, Sr., known to all as Bud, of Luebbering, MO departed this life at his home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Sunday, January 12, 2025, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, eleven months and seven days. Bud was born in St. Louis, MO on February 5, 1937, son of Clifford Cecil Friend and Hazel Opal Friend nee Woodcock. On December 17, 1954 he was united in marriage to Marlene Dorothy Caselle and blessed to have six children. On March 29, 2007 he was united in marriage to Joan Marie Raymo and their families were joined as one. Bud is survived by his wife, Joan Friend of Luebbering, MO; by his daughters, Denise Powers and husband, Mike, Sr., of St. Clair, MO, Jeanie Corwin of St. Clair, MO, Deanna McPherson and husband, Kevin, of St. Clair, MO and Chrissy Friend of Lonedell, MO; by his step-daughter, Kelly Pfeiffer and husband, Fred, of St. Clair, MO; by his brother, Donald Friend and wife, Dorothy, of AR; by nine grandchildren, Buddy Friend and girlfriend, Jackie, Mindy Gonzalez and husband, Alex, Travis Corwin and wife, Lisa, Brittany Schmidt and fiancé, Jason, Katie Juergens and husband, Michael, Morgan Herrington, Camden Newbanks, Caleb Pfeiffer, Ethan Pfeiffer and wife, Jarren and Jonah Pfeiffer and wife, Melanie; by eleven great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Hazel Friend; by his first wife, Marlene Friend; by two sons, Daniel Friend and Harold "Buddy" Friend, Jr.; and by one grandson, Michael Powers, Jr. Bud was a Christian of the Baptist faith and member of Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. He was a carpenter by trade, working primarily through the union hall for various companies, including Alberici Construction, at locations such as Six Flags and Monsanto. Bud loved the outdoors, going hunting or fishing, splitting wood or working in his garden. He also enjoyed taking road trips and traveling with Joan, especially his trips to Colorado, riding horses, dirt bikes and dune buggies and helping at part of the pit crew for his son's stock car races. Bud was very mechanically inclined and could fix about anything. His family meant everything to him and he worked very hard for them. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all. A kind and loving husband, father, step-father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 17, 2025 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, MO with Rev. Ben Kingston officiating. Interment will be in Luebbering Citizens Community Cemetery in Grubville, MO. Memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO.
